Conference about innovation The Arctic Technology Centre holds its next ARTEK Event conference in Sisimiut 1-2 March 2011 with the topic "Innovation in Greenland". The conference takes stock of the conditions and possibilities for innovation in Greenland and discusses what it takes to promote and strenghten it. Read more
New PhD. at ARTEK Janne Fritt-Rasmussen is new PhD. at ARTEK in the topic in situ burning of oil spill in icy marine areas. The project title is "In-situ burning of Arctic Marine Oil Spill. Apisseq - the new engineering domitory of Greenland - inagurated
In mid-October the first ingeneering students moved into the new engineering dormitory of Greenland, situated in Sisimiut. The college was offically inaugurated 18 August with representatives from among others the Villum Fund, the A.P Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller Foundation for General Purpose, as with ther donations, respectively 20 and 25 million Danish kroners financed the realisation of the dormitory.

Greenland's first grid-connected wind turbine In August 2010 the wind turbine of the Arctic Technology Centre placed in Sarfannguaq in West Greenland started to provide power directly to the local consumers. The wind turbine is a Proven and part of a project aiming of providing experience with the potential for wind energy in Greenland. The project is among others supported by the Greenland Government.
