The Arctic Technology Centre in Sisimiut represents a new training opportunity for young Greenlanders with engineering ambitions who are now able to take one-year supplementary courses guaranteeing admission to engineering studies. The curriculum covers mathematics, physics and chemistry.
The course is a joint project run by Sanaartornermik Ilinniarfik (the Building & Construction School) in Sisimiut and the Technical University of Denmark, DTU.
The new supplementary courses mean that the full set of access routes to engineering studies is now available in Greenland.Others, such as the technical line at the three upper secondary schools have existed for a long time and since 2000 also the HTX (technical school-leaving certificate) in Sisimiut.
